Union Executive Board
The Executive Board is the chief financial body of the Union and is the mechanism by which students directly manage the Union itself. It is chaired by the President of the Union Mike Spitz. The E-Board, as it is affectionately known, assembles and manages an annual budget of over $8.9 million, supervises clubs, and determines operating policies for the Union facilities themselves. The E-Board does this with the close cooperation of many people within the Union Administration Office, Athletics Department, and related support organizations. At the end of the fall semester, Union-Funded clubs submit budget proposals to the E-Board for the next school year. After Winter Break, the Executive Board will spend about four days going through all budget proposals and approving and disapproving them according to the Union Budget Policies and Guidelines. These decisions shape the Activity Fees for the following year, which are paid by undergraduate and graduate students to make the varied activities of the Union possible. During other times of the year, the E-Board meets weekly to hear requests for extra funds allocations and other money-related matters.
